Audience research

Below you will find our audience research, we went onto youtube and typed in our artist's name which is 'BodyRockers' and the track which is 'I like the way you move' and then we went under the sub-titles and found the data and statistics from when the song was first published on youtube. But the graph with the names on it we researched and used it as evidence and proof to back up our previous prediction of what the countries were.

This video is most popular within the audience range of:-
Gender Age
Female 13-17
Male 45-54
Male 35-44

Looking at the statistics and data for the official video of 'I like the way you move' by the BodyRockers on Youtube, we discovered that the song is most popular within females aged 13-17 and least popular with males aged 35-44 and when this video came out we ourselves were in that age group and still are, but instead of being the early stages we r now leaving that age gap and still love. now we have found this out i can put a questionnaire together and asked a percentage of females aged 13-17 what they like about the song and if they would ever use it for work.

This video is most popular in:-

More
Less

After looking closely at this chart we found out that the country the video was most popular in was Australia and Tanzanian. The countries that were least popular in preference to this song are in the regions of South America, Africa and Asia This could be due to the cultural/ Social differences between these countries and Australian, Britain and North America. The bands origin is and Australian- British mix, hence the popularity. We suspect the popularity of the song/ band in America would be due to not only the political connection between Australia and America, but also the high recognition of the song/ band.
We did some research on google map to back up our theory and the map below shows Australia and Tanzanian, so as you can see the shape below matches the dark green shape above.

As you can see our prediction was correct.

Digipaks

The Digipaks is the name for patented card packaging from AGI that uses a molded plastic tray to hold the disc. In Europe they are only available from two printers. Digipaks make a big statement. The ultimate custom packaging for our CD replication. Digipaks are also a more environmentally friendly compared to plastic jewel boxes. Many UK companies do not have the facilities to manufacture Digipaks, especially in small quantities. We can manufacture Digipaks for a small a quantity as 500. Our package includes a high-gloss UV coating for a long lasting finish. Uncoated soft matte finish is available on request at no extra charge.

The term Digipak is used to describe a CD case that comprises a plastic disc tray that is integral within a folding cardboard case. Digipaks give the impression of an extra level of quality, and can be used with full colour printed images and text to provide a high level of presentation and design. They are suitable for packaging DVD discs, not just CDs.
cd digipaks are an attractive display option that can present far more information and graphics than standard jewel cases and offer a luxury finish and that much sought after keep factor that many people desire when selling or presenting their product. Our Digipaks are available in a 4 page and 6 page format as standard, and manufactured using a high quality card with either a gloss or matt finish. You can have more panels if required and as standard, there is a choice of clear, black, or white plastic disc trays, and others are available on request. The number or trays and panels can be pick and mixed depending on the design requirements, for example you can have two panels with one Digipak tray, two panels with two Digipak trays, two panels with one Digipak tray and one pocket for a booklet, eight panels with three Digipak trays and a die cut slit for a booklet. The list is endless and it just depends on the number of discs you need to hold and the amount of design graphics you need to display. To secure the pack closed, you can shrink wrap the Digipak or to really complete the distinctive and impressive look of your product and add even more value, the Digipak can go into a slipcase.

Pop music Genre

Pop music is a music genre that developed from the mid-1950s as a softer alternative to rock 'n' roll and later to rock music. It has a focus on commercial recording, often orientated towards a youth market, usually through the medium of relatively short and simple love songs. While these basic elements of the genre have remained fairly constant, pop music has absorbed influences from most other forms of popular music, particularly borrowing from the development of rock music, and utilizing key technological innovations to produce new variations on existing themes.

Change of Video!

Due to lack of appropriate location and cast for a rap video we have decided that doing this style of genre probably wouldn't be best suited for us and have decided to change to a pop genre.

Music research

Genre

The genre I’m thinking of using is a rap theme, because I feel that you can pursue a very unusual style of video with rap and you can use lots of different ideas to portray your sting.

Performance

The performance normally interlinks between depression, loss or the excitement of being young and the thrill of doing what you want with anyone and anything. Often the culturally differences are portrayed through different racial backgrounds.

Place/ setting

Most rap videos are set around the streets, houses and general disturbed neighbourhoods with a lot of graphite and bad tempered youngsters. This style of genre normally involves gangsters, model/ dancer type women not wearing much clothing and the casino themes suggesting gambolling, which surrounds money problems. All these themes resort back to bad times as a child and a general upset in their upbringing as a youth.

copyright

My rap song is being made for my music video therefore everything is their own and hasn’t been stolen from websites or other rap singers songs. The backing track has been supplied from a website called ………………… which I will supply you with. This website is a copyright free zone so it is ok to use it as long as it isn’t used for profitable reasons.

This is the ultra commercial eminem in the rap song ‘just loose it’, the portrayal of his character in this song shows his differences with people and his fight through his hard times and his struggling background.

Persona of my rap star

My rap stars personas are completely different as one brings out the comedy side which comes through in the rap song where as the other star is much more ‘hip hop’ in style and uses more colloquial terms.

use of camera in rap videos

There are a lot of zooms, which show the close-ups on the rappers facial expressions. There are also a lot of side views in a two shot scene, which shows their relationships with women, and other dancers in the shot. There are a lot of pan shots, which show the surroundings which they are in normally there either an up town place i.e. casino with a lot of ‘bling’ and money around them showing there wealth. Or it’s set in the back street of an ally way showing their roughness and how their upbringing has been throughout their life’s. A lot of the focus goes to the clothing mainly and shows how they wear these style of clothes within there different cultures. The actual pace technique of a rap song is very fast and everything is upbeat so it might be a challenge for me to capture this movement in a few minutes. The edits are very snappy, but they are still cleanly cut, however, it gives that choppy look which effects the audience portrayal of the rappers.
